Supervisory Body reports on progress and makes recommendations ahead of COP31

The Article 6.4 Supervisory Body's annual report to the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA) has been published.

The report provides an overview of progress made over the past year in operationalising the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism.

It also outlines recommendations for consideration by Parties at COP31 in Antalya.

Regional DNA Forums Advance Cooperation on PACM

Three regional Designated National Authority (DNA) forums brought together 50 representatives from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean on 19 and 20 October 2026 to exchange experiences and discuss priorities, opportunities, and challenges related to the implementation of the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism.

Participants shared emerging national approaches, discussed common barriers to participation, and identified areas where additional technical support could help strengthen readiness and engagement.

Key topics included:

  • the establishment of effective institutional and regulatory arrangements;
  • support for the transition of eligible Clean Development Mechanism activities to the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism.

As countries advance preparations for participation in the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism, sustained regional dialogue will remain essential to building institutional capacity, fostering consistency in implementation and translating policy frameworks into practical action.
