"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Wishing you happiness."  - Helen Keller

December OET News focuses on healthy feet with our E-cise of Month and OET Recommends features, the importance of Community in this month's Key To Health, and 3 things to be thankful for when you're in chronic pain. I wish you health, happiness, and peace of mind.

E-cise of the Month: Supine Foot Circles & Point Flexes
Our feet are our connection to the earth. When our feet are not functioning well it has a negative impact throughout our body. Supine Foot Circles and Point Flexes helps restore normal strength, endurance, and range of motion to the ankle and foot.

OET Recommends: Vivobarefoot Shoes
Vivobarefoot shoes are one of my favorite shoes and ones I highly recommend. When I look for shoes for myself or to recommend to clients, I look for several features. First, the shoe should be flat or zero-drop which means the heel is not elevated above the front of the shoe and the toes don't curl upward. Second, I want the shoe to be foot-shaped which means being widest at the toes allowing natural toe splay. Third, I look for shoes that are flexible in all directions allowing normal foot function. Fourth, I look for minimal stack height which allows you to feel the ground under your feet giving you better proprioception and stability. Fifth, I want the shoes to be comfortable and stylish. Vivobarefoot shoes check all these boxes which is why I love them. Check them out here.

This month's Key to Health: Community
Humans are social beings and we need to feel love and connection to other human beings. A community give us support, encouragement, love, and a sense of belonging.

Community is the antidote to isolation, loneliness, and low social status, all of which have been shown to lower a person's sense of well-bring, intellectual achievement, immune function, and overall health. Read more.

I know what it is like to suffer with chronic pain and recurrent injuries. I know what it feels like to be in pain and not be able to do what you love to do. I also know what it is like to overcome those injuries and become pain free. I used Postural Alignment Therapy to correct my posture, eliminate my pain, and return to living an active life without limitations. For the last 15 years I've been helping people just like you do the same.  If you or anyone you know is suffering from chronic pain or injuries, encourage them to call me today - I'd be happy to help them.
