How Do You Make Coconut Milk/Cream?

Coconut Milk is derived from processed coconut meat. It is made by grating fresh mature white coconut meat in hot water.


The mixture is then strained to remove the solid remnants. Coconut milk/cream are available in 3 varient forms: Organic, Natural (no stabilizers), With Stabilizers (xtham gum, Q2/Q3 availability)


Coconut milk and cream are not to be confused with coconut water which is the liquid that comes straight from the center of the coconut and not the actual meat.

What's the Difference Between Milk and Cream?

Coconut Milk has 17% (Fat) -

  • More of an opaque, milky-white liquid
  • More water used in the production process than when creating cream

Coconut Cream 24% (Fat) -

  • Higher solids, thicker appearance.
  • Less water used in production compared to thinner coconut products.
