Louisville Flood Relief
With the recent rain and extreme flooding in Louisville and the surrounding areas, SOS donated gloves, masks, isolation gowns and hand sanitizer to the Red Cross to supply almost 750 pounds of supplies to assist in relief and disinfection.

Additionally two 50 gallon drum barrels of cleaning solution were donated; one to the Metro Louisville Department of Emergency Services and one to Captain's Quarters Restaurant to assist in their clean up efforts.

Personal Hygiene Giveaway Day!
SOS regularly receives donated items that fall under the "personal hygiene" category! These items are typically liquids (shampoo, body wash, mouth wash) which we are unable to send on our ocean-going containers.

On February 28th, we held a Personal Hygiene Giveaway Day in support of the SOS local mission to keep items from our landfills. Over 5,500 pounds of personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies were donated to local nonprofit partners, shelters and churches!

If your organization are interested in being added to our contact list for our next Personal Hygiene Giveaway Day please email us at [email protected]
Wildlife Rehabbers
When expired items arrive at the SOS warehouse and cannot be sent to our international partners they are placed in our "expired store". Teaching programs, as well as animal welfare groups, are able to come and "shop" for items they can use.

This is another great way SOS is keeping items out of our landfills and in the hands of organizations in our community who can use them to train future doctors and nurses or to treat our furry friends!
