When to Seek Urgent Mental Health Support

In recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Day

Not every mental health crisis requires an ER visit. In this important video, we break down the difference between when urgent care is appropriate and when emergency intervention is needed.

  • Go to the ER for immediate risk: active suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or danger to others
  • Use urgent care for non-life-threatening but serious concerns like panic attacks, mood shifts, or sleep issues

Knowing the difference helps ensure your loved one gets the right level of care at the right time.

What AI Use in Therapy Means For You

Please note that your session may be scribed using AI-assisted note-taking tools to meet increasing insurance documentation requirements and enhance clinical records. This feature generates a concise and secure summary of the visit, helping your provider accurately document your concerns, symptoms, and treatment plan. By minimizing the time spent on notetaking, we can focus more on actively listening to you and addressing your questions.

As always, your privacy remains our top priority. Our Zoom platform is HIPAA-compliant, ensuring that the AI tool adheres to strict HIPAA and data privacy standards. Any content generated is treated with the same level of confidentiality as your medical records.

“Getting dressed or leaving the house is an enormous effort."

“On any given day or time, I break down and cry for no reason.”

Does this sound like what you are feeling or experiencing? Have you tried talking with a therapist? Or tried different medications from your healthcare provider? …. but nothing seems to help?

You may be suffering from “treatment-resistant depression.” However, there is hope! At the Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine, we offer a SPRAVATO® Treatment Resistant Depression Clinic that can help you feel better and engage in the activities you once enjoyed, while completing tasks of daily living.

SPRAVATO® is the first nasal spray medication specifically for adults with treatment resistant depression and major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts or actions.

"The staff is absolutely wonderful and makes treatment a pleasant time. I usually have anxiety, but the staff is so welcoming and friendly that I don't feel any anxiety when doing my treatment."

"Well coordinated program - should be the model for other programs or eventually Spravato administration specific practices."
