Church leaders in the Tham Hin Refugee Camp, Thailand
By God's grace, it's been another wonderful year of teaching and ministry in SE Asia and the Congo. Inside the refugee camps in the Myanmar-Thai borderlands, many new doors opened for me to speak to Bible school students, teach faculty members, and minister to refugees who are struggling to cope with their new life behind barbed wire and fences.

Meanwhile, in Myanmar, we've been amazed by how many people are reading our biblical reflections, translated into Burmese and boosted on Facebook. Each of the eight posts reached 250,000- 400,000 people, resulting in an average of 14,000 responses (likes/loves), with thousands of people also clicking on links to our website resource library. For those not familiar with Facebook, this means that these articles are being widely read and appreciated by an incredible number of people, the vast majority of whom we have never met. | Tim conducted a two day faculty workshop for KKBBSC faculty members. | In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, I had the opportunity to travel to Goma, North Kivu (Eastern Congo), to teach, preach, and minister to hundreds of pastors, chaplains, and other Christians for one week in April. It was an amazing time of equipping and inspiration for these weary and poorly educated leaders. In addition, I have been teaching The Spirit-Led Leadership material to chaplains online once a month all year long. The challenges of serving in a war torn part of the country, where millions are displaced and whose lives are continually in danger, are immense. Yet, all their trials have created an openness and eagerness for biblically-based, theologically sound, practical teaching. God is truly working through all that we are doing there.

Please give thanks to God with us for all that God has been doing through our ministries to oppressed people of Myanmar, Burmese refugees in Thailand, and our brothers and sisters suffering immensely in Eastern Congo. By God's grace, we are teaching, inspiring, and encouraging thousands of people around the world in life-transforming ways. Most of the students and leaders we are serving are living in war zones and refugee camps, often under unimaginable circumstances, and God is using us to give them hope.
Looking forward, we are praying that God will continue to use our FHLGM teams to be conduit of God's love to all those we serve in Southeast Asia and Eastern Congo. We depend on God to be able to serve these people effectively and fruitfully. And, alongside all our teaching and coaching, we are asking God to use us to encourage these struggling, traumatized, and hurting people to bring them greater healing and peace, along with renewed strength to face their hardships.
Thank you for concern for these vulnerable, mistreated, and disadvantaged children of God, and for praying with us for them and for our ministries to them. As this year draws to a close, please also consider making a yearend contribution to help us meet our budget for the year and to keep our ministries going and growing. Thank you.
