I turned 40 in April of 2020. I scheduled my first annual mammogram for June, figuring I would check it off my to-do list and I’d be good to go for a year. Never did I imagine that two months later I would end up losing both my breasts to a mastectomy. I knew about Sharsheret, but until I became a breast cancer patient, I had no idea of the scope of the services they offered. From my talks with a social worker, to the Peer Support Network, the Busy Box sent to my children, and the wide variety of programming, I quickly became aware of how invaluable Sharsheret's help is for me and my family. Connect with others from the comfort of your home. Our webinar will offer guidelines for serving as a peer supporter, information about how we connect women with others to learn more about health care professionals they are considering for their treatment team, resources to share with other women facing cancer, and a role play simulation. 
 
Additionally, the webinar will offer training on other meaningful ways to get involved in Sharsheret's educational outreach initiatives ranging from social media advocacy to hosting a home event.

Exclusive Embrace Yoga and Nutrition Workshop 2/18
Join the Sharsheret Embrace community for an exclusive Yoga and Nutrition workshop on February 18th at 8pm EST/5pm PST.

The workshop is open to the Sharsheret Embrace Community, and can be accessed in our closed Facebook group that discusses the issues of women with advanced/metastatic breast and ovarian cancer. 
 
Gila Singer, a registered dietitian and certified group fitness instructor with a background in health and wellness will lead a Yoga and Nutrition Workshop where registrants will learn the importance of healthy nutrition, review breast and ovarian cancer nutrition myths and enjoy meditation and restorative yoga.
