Religious Diversity Journeys for Seventh Graders (RDJ)
Sponsor a Journey for $2,500
Sponsor a Religious Diversity Journey for 150 students. RDJ is an immersive interfaith education program encompassing field trips to five different places of worship to learn about metro Detroit’s diverse religions and traditions. Each trip is a fun, engaging experience providing hundreds of 7th graders with objective information about world religions, and promoting understanding and friendship with those of different backgrounds. Summary sessions are held at the Detroit Institute of Arts or the Holocaust Memorial Center.
RDJ Bus Transportation Sponsor, $1,000
A $1,000 donation covers the cost of bus transportation for one school to participate in six field trips for Religious Diversity Journeys.
Faith and Works Podcast Sponsor for $500
The InterFaith Leadership Council’s Faith and Works Podcasts explore wide-ranging topics related to religion and American values. Topics include: “What is Religion Becoming,” “The Effects of COVID-19 on the Practice of Worship,” and “Weaponizing Words.”
Sponsor a Community Values Discussion for $100
Our Community Values discussions bring together Detroiters of different faiths to share their personal stories about values, religion and understanding—a first step in bridging barriers, developing a sense of belonging together and creating a better community. A gift of $100 will cover the cost of meeting space and refreshments for one group discussion.
