A new year brings some great news for Parksville. According to BC Business Magazine the city has been awarded the ranking of the 2nd most resilient place for work in all of British Columbia! This is a repeat showing for Parksville as we climbed from 15th spot in 2020.
To gain further clarity and assess the ability of B.C.’s largest cities to weather the economic storm, we developed a new and expanded set of 12 indicators Covering demographic, workforce composition, real estate and employment trends, this year’s indicators explore key risk factors, resiliency factors and early signs of recovery.

Mini Virtual Hiring Sessions at the Career Centre

The Career Centre (your WorkBC Centre - Parksville) will be holding a number of Mini Virtual Hiring Sessions throughout the month of April. These sessions will be 75 minutes long and will allow employers the opportunity to connect with up to 20 pre-screened individuals seeking employment in their particular sector (i.e. accommodation, retail, health etc…). Parksville Qualicum Foundation takes part in new Healthy Communities Initiative
Parksville Qualicum Foundation announces they will be working with other BC Foundations to provide $980,170 to transform public spaces in response to COVID -19.
This funding is part of the Government of Canada’s new $31 million Healthy Communities Initiative.
