As the holidays approach, I’m personally asking you to support WILPF’s leadership for Love and Hope in Action. 

Our efforts lend strength to progressive women’s voices. We work together to address ongoing nuclear proliferation, threats to our democracy, human and civil rights struggles (including women’s right to choose), capitalist overreach, and attacks on the Earth. Our sisterhood gives me hope. Our activism moves us closer to peace and to a more caring and just society.

We truly are more powerful together, especially in our increasingly complicated world.

Our 2022 successes included:

• Our DISARM/End Wars Committee remained active in the Peace in Ukraine Coalition and continued its work to oppose nuclear weapons.

• Member Cindy Piester, an Earth Democracy Committee activist, represented WILPF US and WILPF International at COP 27 on global climate collapse in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

• The Women, Money & Democracy Committee led their second Public Banking Learning Circle. That six-part series led to a renewed Vermont Public Banking Advocacy effort.

• I was one of 35 WILPFers who attended the Poor People Campaign’s March on Washington and to the Polls. WILPF’s new Voting Rights Resources will be valuable tools through 2024.

• We’re launching and reviving branches in Atlanta, GA; Southern Piedmont and Central North Carolina; Washington DC area; and Chicago, IL. We’re working to make our membership more diverse and inclusive.
