Newcastle Chamber Update January 30 2024
Support Small Business, Shop Local!
The Christmas rush is over, we have brought in the new year and it’s time to kick start the year. What are you doing to get people spending at your business? We are looking at promoting a “SHOP LOCAL EVENT”. We are looking for your feedback with ideas.
It might be a contest sponsored by the Chamber, it might be a significant call to action within an establishment or something wild and crazy, let’s hear your ideas.
Durham College Marketing Contest
It’s DCMC time again!! The chamber is sponsoring this contest again this year and we have nine businesses entered. The contest is the morning of February 27th and 28th from 8:00 am until 1:00pm. I could still use a few more judges. If you are interested, please contact Jim at:
Networking - Let Us Have Your Input
The top reason to join a Chamber of Commerce often boils down to networking opportunities. Chambers provide a structured environment for businesses to connect with one another, fostering relationships that can lead to collaborations, partnerships, and increased visibility within the local community. Networking through a Chamber allows businesses to expand their professional contacts, generate referrals, and access valuable resources that can contribute to their growth and success.
The chamber board will be meeting in February to put a networking plan together for 2024. Some of the events to look at:
  • Seminars, marketing,
  • Social media, security,
  • Community policing.
  • Mix and Mingle events.
  • Speed Networking.
  • Breakfast/Lunch
  • Networking meetings.
