Create a personal message explaining why fully funding Worcester County Public Schools is important to you. Not sure what to write? Here are some ideas to get you started:

Dear [Your Commissioner’s Name],

I’m asking you to support funding the 2026 WCPS budget in full because

  • I/my children/my grandchildren deserve the best education possible
  • WCPS is a top-performing MD school district; WCPS teachers are the lowest-paid teachers in MD. Be fair to the County’s largest group of employees.
  • I support fully-funded public schools and I will vote in 2026.
  • Small class sizes are part of WCPS success. Keep our classes small.
  • Good schools are the #1 attraction for families and businesses to move here.
  • The school administration has created a reasonable budget with full transparency and received 100% support from the school board members.

For Purcell, Mitricic, Fiori: Thank you for indicating your support for the WCPS budget request. I hope you are able to vote for full funding this year, so the school district can stop trying to make up for shortfalls in the future.

For Elder: Thank you for finding a compromise last year that gave WCPS more than another year of Maintenance of Effort funding. I hope you will vote for full funding this year, so the school district can stop trying to make up for shortfalls in the future.

For the Postcards: Sign your name, and cross out the names of all Commissioners except yours, and drop the card in the mail, preferably before May 5. You can look up your commissioner here https://www.commoncause.org/find-your-representative/addr/
