libraryfoundationTonight! Library Foundation Fundraiser
Visit Books Inc., Sixto's, David's Tea and Pizza My Heart

Please join the Burlingame Library Foundation for holiday cheer and fun at its annual holiday fundraiser tonight at Books Inc. on Burlingame Avenue.  When you mention the Burlingame Library Foundation holiday fundraiser, a percentage of every 'Avenue' Books Inc. sale made between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. will contribute to community programs presented by the Burlingame Library.  Here's your chance to make a difference in our neighborhood; there are Library community programs offered for everyone - from children to adults!

And after you have made your Books Inc. holiday purchases, how about treating yourself to a nice dinner and a cup of tea!  Sixto's and David's Tea, both on the Avenue, and Pizza My Heart, on Primrose, are also participating in this holiday fundraiser.   Whether you're interested in a nice sit-down dinner or a convenient takeout meal, just mention the Burlingame Library Foundation holiday fundraiser and each restaurant will contribute a percentage of their November 30 sales between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for Library funding!

We're looking forward to meeting more of our neighbors!  Please spread the good news!

The Library's Winter Reading program begins this Friday, December 1.  Pick up a log at the Main Library or Easton Branch to get started.  Read over the 15 days during the holiday break and mark a snowflake for each day you read.  Participants will receive one raffle ticket for every 5 days of reading.  You can even complete more than one reading log!  Logs must be turned in by January 13, 2018.
carolanCarolan Complete Streets Project Update

As a part of the Carolan Avenue Complete Streets Project, Ghilotti Construction Company will be performing asphalt paving on Carolan Avenue between Broadway and Oak Grove Avenue, December 4- 7, all day, weather permitting.

What to Expect During Construction
  • Grinding will be performed in the parking and right lane areas on December 4.
  • Construction hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During construction hours, two lanes of through traffic (one lane each way) will be maintained at all times. The contractor will use flagmen or use barriers to direct vehicular traffic.
  • There may be possible delays for businesses and residents to access property driveways and side streets. The Contractor will be paving and will need to block off side streets and driveways for short periods of time until the asphalt can accept vehicular traffic.
  • Temporary parking restrictions on all streets will be posted at least 48 hours in advance.
  • There will be uneven pavement during various stages of the paving activities.
We will do our best to minimize any disruption caused by the construction. Field inspectors will be present on the job site and will be happy to answer your questions or provide assistance if needed. If you cannot locate an inspector during construction, or have any questions regarding the project, please contact Nick Panayotou at (650) 642-5299. Your patience during construction is greatly appreciated.
