Message from Simone

As the incoming director, I’m honored and energized to lead the Kansas Sampler Foundation into its next chapter. Our mission is to preserve and sustain rural culture. I’m grateful for the opportunity to build on Marci’s remarkable legacy, carrying forward the work of elevating rural Kansas for those who have yet to discover it, and reminding longtime Kansans that rural places are not only where many of us come from, but where many still intentionally choose to build their lives.

The Kansas Sampler Foundation’s role as coach, connector, and champion for rural communities remains steadfast. We believe deeply in the future of rural Kansas, and it’s our grassroots network of explorers and do-ers who inspire us every day. As you consider supporting our work—both now and in the years ahead—we hope you’ll enjoy hearing from these Kansans whose lives and communities are strengthened through our programs.

This year, our year-end campaign goal is $30,000. These funds will allow us to refresh our website to better support Explorers and enhance access to resources when our new Guidebook launches. Your generosity will also help us enhance and develop new programs designed to equip Kansans with tools to connect and share solutions, and become the best versions of themselves.

If you believe in the power, resilience, and future of rural Kansas, we invite you to invest in the work that keeps these communities thriving.

I look forward to getting to know more of you as we move forward. Let's connect: simone.elder@kansassampler.org. I'm grateful you are part of our network.

Message from Marci

Rural Kansas was the best workplace I could imagine. My office was the road—and it taught me so much. The people of rural Kansas, and the advocates who champion them, were patient teachers. The gumption of community doers inspired me daily. In return, I was moved to give my all to Kansas communities.

Now, WenDee and I are passing the baton to a new team, led by Simone. We have every confidence they will take this work from good to great. As you consider where your charitable dollars—or even just a few extra ones—should go this year, I want you to know that every donation truly makes an impression. It would let Simone and team feel that someone is pulling for them and believes in them, and therefore believes in Kansas communities.

If you’re able, it would mean a lot to help this new team get off to a great start. You'd have my utmost gratitude.

WE WON'T KEEP IT A SECRET ABOUT THE WAYS YOU CAN GIVE:

Online: Whether you set-up a one-time year-end donation or a monthly recurring payment, your support helps preserve and sustain rural culture.

By Mail: Send a check to the headquarters at 978 Arapaho Road, Inman, KS 67546.

Renew your membership or join the Club: Another way you can support our work is by renewing your Kansas Explorers Club membership. This is a key source of funding for our organization and is a gift of knowledge to yourself throughout the year. Round up your membership fee to further support our work.

Legacy Giving: Our work serving as a trusted bridge and catalyst for rural possibility has taken years to develop and we are looking forward to continuing this work into the future. We invite you to consider the Kansas Sampler Foundation in your legacy planning now and in the future. We have an endowment with the McPherson County Community Foundation which we continue to add to during Match Week in March.
