Dear Friends of the President Wilson House,

On this Giving Tuesday, we ask you to consider The President Wilson House in your giving plan to causes you care about. Your donation helps us continue to preserve the home and its historic artifacts, while exploring Wilson's legacy, the social movements of his time, and their relevance today. Now more than ever, your support is so important and appreciated. 
In this season of gratitude, we look back on all we have accomplished this year with your help and extend our sincerest thanks. We’ve come a long way, and there is still along way to go. Navigating COVID continues to be a challenge, with staffing shortages, lost revenue from tours, events, and property rentals.
 
Here's how your funds will be used to support us in our mission:

  • Re-launch our Virtual and In-Person Speaker Series

  • Support our Scholars Program. The Wilson House desperately needs assistance supporting a meaningful experience for the scholars. It takes many hours each week to set up meetings, projects, mentors and interviews to ensure the scholars experience a productive and rewarding semester at the Wilson House. We are extremely dedicated to seeing this program blossom.

  • Fund high-quality video content so we can bring the Wilson House on-line and provide our followers virtual tours and content.

  • Complete our landscape project. Along with funds, we need plants and gardeners.

  • Add more self-guided walking tours of Dupont Circle, Sheridan Circle and Observatory Circle to our Tour Offerings by financing the audio editing, the guide-by-cell service, the online booking and the marketing of the tours.

  • Market the Wilson House to schools and communities that want to learn more about President Wilson, his legacy and his place in history.

  • Store, restore and maintain this amazing collection of over 9,000 items at the Wilson House. From acid-free archival folders and sleeves to restoring the magnificent Gobelin Tapestry to tuning the Steinway Concert Grand Piano.

  • Ask your Human Resources department if your company will match your charitable contributions.

  • Spread the word! Please tell your friends to “like” us, “follow” us, write about us, tweet about us.

  • Volunteer time in the garden, the curator’s office, the front desk or doing research online.

  • Share your ideas for exhibitions, contacts, leads, speakers, partners, collaborators. We would love your help with ideas for what you’d like to see, discuss, share and learn at the Wilson House.
