About GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Join the movement and giveeach Tuesday and every daywhether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community.

It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in!❤️

Join Us in Making a Difference: Support the Lamorinda Care Collective this Giving Tuesday!

The Lamorinda Care Collective began as a two-week kindness pop-up designed to meet a simple but powerful need in our community: ensuring families could access the essentials that make a house feel like home. Since then, it has grown into a thriving, volunteer-powered initiative serving thousands of families.

Please see a fantastic article in Forbes about Lamorinda Care Collective’s Radical Model of Community Care.

🙏This holiday season, they are hoping workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, faith communities, sports teams, and more will join their efforts to ensure families have everything they need and want.

How to Support:

🧸Donate New Toys:

Last year, they gave away thousands of brand-new holiday gifts—offering parents one less worry and one more joy to look forward to. With even more families expected this year, every toy makes a difference. Clean out your gift closets, organize a drive, or forward this note to your network to help spread the word.

🥫Donate Food + Toiletries:

With SNAP benefits ending and prices climbing, requests for shelf-stable food and personal care items have surged. From diapers to shampoo to canned goods, every contribution helps families avoid impossible trade-offs. You can host a drive, clean out your pantry, or simply add a few extra items to your weekly grocery run.

💲Give via Venmo: Love the mission but don’t have the bandwidth for a drive? No problem. Monetary donations allow the team to purchase the most-needed items for the store. You can Venmo Maya (@Maya-Smith-12) or Julie (@Julie-Cummings-9)— they’ll keep you updated on how every dollar is spent.

📅 Open for public shopping and donations through December 21: Wednesdays: 8:30–10:30am & Sundays: 3:00–6:00pm

📍 1005 Oak Hill Rd., Lafayette
