Client Impact Story
One of our longtime Mami y Yo participants has been part of the program for six years. She first joined when her son was just a toddler, and over time became an active and caring member of the group. She was always showing up with kindness, laughter, and support for other moms. Her son graduated from the program two years ago, but she has continued to stay connected with us ever since.
About a year ago, her family went through a difficult time. Her husband had surgery that unfortunately wasn’t successful, and since then, he hasn’t been able to work as much. Their household income dropped significantly, and they began struggling to keep up with bills.
Last month, she reached out for help with her Roseville utility bill and rent. Thanks to our community support and partnership with the City of Roseville HPRR grant, we were able to step in and help cover both, allowing the family to stay in their home and regain stability.
Her story is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do and reminds families they’re not alone, especially when times get tough.

| | This month, families participated in engaging virtual activities, including reading practice to learn and recognize their names, as well as an art project creating colorful paper plate sea turtle collages. These activities not only support early learning and creativity but also help strengthen connections between children and their families. | | |

16-Week Spanish Parent Project Course
Are you a parent navigating the challenges of raising children in a bicultural environment? Parent Project is a 16-week course designed to support families through practical tools, community connection, and meaningful growth. Throughout the course, parents explore topics such as healthy communication, youth mental health, substance use, and gang prevention in a supportive, culturally informed setting. While parents learn, their children participate in parallel youth groups focused on leadership, self-esteem, and resilience.
Our next cohort will begin in January 2026 in Lincoln!
Here’s what past participants have shared:
“I have participated in Parent Project two times during the different life stages of my children, and in each class, I have learned different tools to continue communicating better with my children.” — Maria
“We have brought all our children to these Parent Project classes. We, as a family, have learned how to better communicate with each other and find solutions for our family’s differences.” — Sara
If you're looking to build stronger relationships at home and connect with other families on a similar journey, the Parent Project could be the perfect next step.

| | Entre Amigos y Chiquillos | | Our youth recently participated in an exciting outing at K1 Speed in Sacramento. The activity provided a fun and engaging way to build teamwork, confidence, and focus while enjoying some friendly competition on the indoor track. It was a great opportunity for the youth to connect, challenge themselves, and have a memorable experience together! | | |
