Our women from various support group recently came together for the Mujeres de Sabiduría Retreat at the Sisters of Mercy in Auburn. Over the weekend, participants stepped away from daily responsibilities to focus on mental wellness, reflection, and personal growth. Through guided activities, shared conversations, and moments of quiet contemplation, these women strengthened their bonds, found renewed energy, and experienced the power of community support.
Retreats like the Sabiduría Retreat remind us how vital safe spaces are for healing, connection, and empowerment. By investing time in themselves and each other, our participants are not only nurturing their own well-being but also building resilience that extends into their families and communities. Stories like these highlight why our programs matter and why creating spaces for growth, sisterhood, and wisdom is at the heart of what we do.

Latino men and women continue to face significant barriers to accessing mental health services. Many of the individuals we serve live below the poverty line, making it even more challenging to receive the essential care they need.

Lincoln Parent Project Starts in January | | |
16-Week Spanish Language Parent Project Course
Are you a parent navigating the challenges of raising children in a bicultural environment? Parent Project is a 16-week course designed to support families through practical tools, community connection, and meaningful growth. Throughout the course, parents explore topics such as healthy communication, youth mental health, and substance use in a supportive, culturally informed setting. While parents learn, their children participate in parallel youth groups focused on leadership, self-esteem, and resilience.
Our next cohort will begin in January 2026 in Lincoln!

| | | This month, children practiced their names, numbers, and colors while enjoying play and circle time each day. They explored creativity through art projects like leaf lions, cupcake liner bird nests, and Veteran's Day handprint flags. Students celebrated Bird's Day, Veteran's Day, and Book Day, shared favorite stories and created “Me” books. These activities supported early learning, creativity, and social connection throughout November. | | |

| | Entre Amigos y Chiquillos | | November was filled with moments of remembrance, gratitude, and connection. It began with our Día de los Muertos celebration, followed by a joyful day of mandarin picking in collaboration with Auburn Interfaith Food Closet, and a heartfelt Friendsgiving gathering. Each experience reminded us of the importance of honoring our roots, nurturing our well-being, and leaning into community. | | |

We are grateful to everyone who made this possible and helped ensure families had a warm, stress-free holiday meal.
