Jailene Trigueros
Prior to becoming a Promotora with the LLC, Jailene was a Bilingual Case Manager for another nonprofit agency that worked with the Office of Refugee Resettlement. In this position, she worked with children who were detained at the border and were seeking reunification with family members in the United States. Jailene found an open position with the LLC while searching for an employer who not only cared about their client's mental health needs, but their staff's as well.
"What I enjoy most about being a Promotora is the direct help we are able to provide our clients through a multitude of resources, programs and partnerships. The community we serve often has trouble navigating current systems due to language barriers or fear related to immigration status. Promotores are someone our community can trust because we are able to listen to them and empathize with their situations. Lastly, helping the community is something I hold dear as I am the daughter of both a Mexican immigrant and Salvadoran refugee. I enjoy utilizing my knowledge to help those who come from similar backgrounds as me and allow me to provide the assistance I wish my family had growing up."
