WH&LA Board Members meet with legislators, WRA, and partner organizations
On January 22, WH&LA Board Members joined Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA) and partner organizations for a meeting with key legislators to discuss the economic impact of the extension of bartime during the 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee. Together, the group expressed support for the extension of bartime, sighting it as an opportunity to maximize visitor spending and help restaurants, bars and hotels meet customer demands. 
 
WH&LA Attendees: Kathi Kilgore, WH&LA Contract Lobbyist; Kevin Gallagher, Marcus Hotels & Resorts; Brandon McConnell, IDM Hospitality;  Jon Jossart, Ambassador Hotel; Dave Sekeres, Lake Lawn Resort. 

Groups Represented: WH&LA, Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA),  Association of Wisconsin Tourism Attractions,  Visit Milwaukee, City of Milwaukee.

Legislators: Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester),  Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna),  Representative Rob Swearingen (R-Rhinelander), Chairman of the Assembly Committee on State Affairs,  Representative Mike Kuglitsch (R-New Berlin), the lead sponsor of the DNC Closing Time legislation to discuss upcoming.
