CUNY Callouts: Meet New Faces

Tracy Mejia Urena is a proud CUNY alumna and advocate who has been in the CUNY community since 2010. After receiving a B.A. in psychology from York College in 2014 and an MPA from Baruch College in 2019, she joined Lehman College as an academic program coordinator. Currently, she serves as a scholarships and events specialist at CUNY BA, managing student funding opportunities along with alumni and donor relationships. Early in her CUNY career, Tracy took ESL courses as part of the CUNY Language Immersion Program and worked at York College’s Center for Students with Disabilities.

“CUNY has played a key role in my personal and professional development as an immigrant Latina in NYC. I received caring and intentional support as a student when I needed it the most to learn English, earn my degrees and develop my sense of belonging and professional goals in a new country,” said Tracy, who works hard to ensure that students have a meaningful educational experience. “I love that CUNY is an inclusive community where immigrants feel welcomed and respected."
