Supporting Our Members with Fire Safety Planning

Recently, some of our members have experienced fires in their workplaces— an unfortunate reminder of how quickly a situation can become devastating.

A well-developed fire safety plan is not only a regulatory requirement, it is a critical step in protecting workers, property, and business continuity. The MSA is here to support our members in developing or improving their fire safety plans to help prevent loss and ensure readiness in the event of an emergency.

A fire safety plan should include:

  • Emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • Inventory and safe storage of flammable substances
  • Trained personnel assigned to fire safety roles
  • Documented training and annual fire drills
  • Regular inspections and hazard control measures

Preventing workplace fires begins with effective planning. MSA safety consultants are available to support members by reviewing existing fire safety plans, identifying potential fire hazards, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
