Elevate Every Voice Presents Nicole Adler — Talk, Q&A, & Book Signing

Nicole Adler, the first San Francisco Pride Grand Marshal with Down syndrome, will headline a free community talk on Saturday, November 1 at 3pm at the Las Trampas campus in Lafayette as part of the Elevate Every Voice speaker series.

The event will feature Adler’s keynote, an audience Q&A, and a book signing celebrating her upcoming biography, With Love As Her Compass.

Tree of Lights 2025 - Lafayette

Hospice of the East Bay is proud to be celebrating their 39th annual Tree of Lights in Lafayette on November 11 at 5:30pm! For 39 years these ceremonies have provided a way for families and friends to honor their loved ones and find solace in the symbolism of light as the names of their loved ones are read.

The funds raised by these ceremonies make it possible for Hospice of the East Bay to provide hospice care to patients who are not covered by insurance. Your support also allows them to offer additional services and programs, such as Bruns House and support for Veterans.

Sweet Thursday Author Series - Dennis Ranahan

Join the Sweet Thursday Author Series on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00pm at the Lafayette Library for an evening with author Dennis Ranahan, who will discuss his book Al Davis to Win—a captivating blend of memoir and NFL history that explores the rise of the American Football League and its merger with the NFL through the eyes of those who shaped it.

SHELTER, Inc. Food Drive

Join SHELTER, Inc. to help over 400 low-income families celebrate Thanksgiving this year! They are accepting non-perishable food donations at their Concord office, 1333 Willow Pass Rd. Ste., 206 Concord, until November 14 at 12pm.

Don’t have time to shop? Monetary contributions are gladly accepted and will be used for each household’s turkey purchase. Contributions can be made online or mailed to SHELTER, Inc., P.O. Box 5368, Concord, CA 94524.

Donate non-perishable items from the list below:

• Canned goods: candied yams, chicken stock, corn, cranberry sauce, cream of mushroom soup, green beans, canned fruit, french fried onions, pasta sauce
• Dry goods: beans, biscuit or bread mix, gravy mix, instant mashed potatoes, pasta noodles, rice, stuffing mix, and cake or brownie mix
• Extras: can openers, oven mitts, napkins, aluminum foil, and kitchen tools

As the year comes to a close, Mindful Littles invites you to join them in spreading kindness and care to local families in need. Bring your family for a free, joyful, hands-on service experience on December 5 at Orinda Community Center before Winterfest including:

• Bundling LOTS of baby diapers
• Decorating bags with love and creativity
• Learning about the impact of diaper insecurity and the families we’re helping
• Connecting with others in our community
