We applaud today’s Supreme Court decision striking down the current Administration’s challenge to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and in doing so, has extended the lifeline that 650,000 law-abiding young people rely on to live and work legally in this country. But we remind everyone DACA was intended as a temporary fix and we call on Congress to act on comprehensive immigration reform.
Having the Supreme Court validate the legal protections Dreamers currently benefit from is proof these young people who were brought to America as children should not be punished. We call on Congress to move forward with solutions like the bipartisan, House-passed American Dream and Promise Act, H.R. 6, that would give permanent protections to Dreamers and their families, including American-born children.
We support Dreamers and their families who continue to fight to live legally in this country by providing resources needed to apply for legal protections and advocating for a permanent solution to their legal situation.
We speak directly to Dreamers when we say you are not invisible, we continue fighting alongside you, and we will do so until you are allowed to live out your American Dream.
