Supreme Court’s Busy Week:
Hands Off District-Drawing; No to Census Question; Accelerate Takings Cases
In the last days of its 2018-2019 term, the United States Supreme Court issued three rulings on matters with significant state and local impact. They ruled that district-drawing is a state legislative, not a federal constitutional, matter – leaving the Maryland 6 th and 8 th districts intact for the 2020 election. They also halted that a proposed citizenship question on the 2020 census, and overturned a longstanding rule about the filing of takings cases in federal court.

At Delmarva Power, we are committed to helping our customers save money and energy.

Through our Energize Education Program, students at Greenwood Elementary School were given the power to save energy at home with a free energy efficiency toolkit. With the toolkit, students practiced energy saving techniques and learned how they can make a difference in the environment by monitoring how they use energy and what tools help them reduce energy usage. By engaging students in school and reinforcing the lesson with a real-life application, Delmarva Power is helping shape energy saving habits and knowledge that these students will keep for the rest of their lives.
