Cotton Admitted into American Surgical Association

Dr. Bryan Cotton was admitted into the American Surgical Association as a new member. The ASA is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious surgical organization. Its members include the nation’s most prominent surgeons from the country's leading academic medical institutions.
Adams, Moore and Conley spoke at Annual Southwestern Surgical Congress Meeting

Dr. Sasha Adams, Dr. Laura Moore and medical student Aliyah Conley, BA represented McGovern Medical School at the Annual Southwestern Surgical Congress Meeting.
Dr. Adams presented on “Progress on Entrustable Professional Activities at Medical School Level”. Dr. Moore moderated a scientific session and Aliyah Conley presented on “Geographic and Financial Considerations for REBOA Resources to Address Post-Partum Hemorrhage in Texas”.
Kao Presented at Surgical Infection Society

The Surgical Infection Society met in Dallas. Dr. Lilian Kao presented an update on her Surgical Infection Society Innovation Award on Alliance of Surgical Site Infections STudies (ASSIST) and her research resident, Chelsea Guy-Frank presented “A Systematic Review of Preoperative Oral Health Intervention in Abdominal Surgery Patients” and “Skin Closure after Laparotomy: A National Survey of Surgeon Risk Assessment and Management”
