Let the Construction Begin!
We begin an exciting new chapter in Reach Dane's history: the official purchase of the future Reach Dane South Madison Center!
On Friday, May 8, 2020 we purchased a property on Latham Dr. that will become the innovative $4.4 Million South Madison education and support center for the area's most underserved children and families.

Our agency ended its over six-year search to locate the property to become our innovative education and support center for the most underserved children and families in South Madison.

Our Executive Director, Jen Bailey, attended a socially distant outdoor notarization to finalize the purchase and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Many staff and community partners have played instrumental roles in this endeavor and we cannot wait to celebrate all together in person!

We are pleased to share this exciting journey with you!

Trauma-informed design and equitable placemaking are central to the center's design to embrace emotional well-being, equality, and autonomy. Innovative local architecture firm, Sketchworks, began designing the center for us in December 2019.

Some of our favorite features will include:

  • Rock Climbing Wall to build fine and gross motor skills and confidence

  • Two playgrounds and a bike path

  • Outdoor Classroom

  • Multipurpose Room

  • Lactation Room

  • Solar Electricity

  • Natural materials and features to promote safety, calm, resiliance
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Staff and agency broker gather from a distance to commemorate the purchase.
Jen Bailey cuts the ribbon tethered to large solar panel poles.
Outdoor Notarization
The purchase was notarized outdoors to accord to social distancing during COVID-19.
We will accept private donations as it enters the construction phase. Other opportunities to support include major gifts and naming opportunities of the following spaces: outdoor classroom, lactation room, rock climbing wall, entrance memorial, and playground bike path.

Every participating donor holds a place on the front entrance donor wall.

Please contact Jen Everson at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more about this development or supporting the center.
