Take The Mission Study Survey
The purpose of this survey is a means for our congregation to gain a better sense of how our history has shaped us, who we are now as a community of faith and service, and what we discern as God’s plan for the future of Piedmont Community Church.
The survey will help determine the priorities which will set direction for the future of the congregation and its ministry.
We believe God is with us as we assess the spiritual health of the congregation, identify ways to attract membership for church growth, and engage our broader community in pursuit of our mission and social justice.
The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
We appreciate your time! Deadline is October 31.

First Town Hall Gathering This Sunday
Piedmont Community Church is pleased to welcome church members, and members of the wider community, to attend any of three Town Hall gatherings; Sunday, October 17, October 24 and October 31.
The gatherings on October 17 and 31 will be held in-person on the Piedmont Church campus at 11am, while the gathering on October 24 will be held virtually on Zoom at 7pm.
The Town Hall event is hosted by the Mission Study Team, a group of church members dedicated to helping the church navigate a time of transition, seeking new leadership and new direction.
Each Town Hall gathering will be hosted by a member of the team. Small groups will make for comfortable and confidential conversation.
All participants of the in-person gatherings must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 and wear a face covering when indoors.

Stewardship Campaign Moved To January
Recently, Stewardship Committee member Paul Schroeder spoke to the congregation about the committee’s decision to move the annual campaign from October to January.
Click below to hear the reason behind this decision.

New Vaccination Policy
In order to protect the health and well-being of our community, we are requiring all participants, age 12 and over, attending Sunday worship services and church events, to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
All participants over the age of 2 must wear masks indoors.
This policy will adopt the honor system. There will be no enforcement, such as checking vaccination cards at the door.

Small Groups Continue
Thursday evenings, we share a meal at church at 6:15pm. Then, we meet together in groups of 8-10 people in various locations on site, or in homes (or online, if necessary) for conversation, fellowship, learning and spiritual growth. Vaccinations and (indoor) masks required.

|
Wednesday Bible Study
Join Dr. Don Ashburn each Wednesday morning from 10-11am on Zoom, as we journey together through the Book of Acts.
No preparation and no previous experience studying the Bible is needed. Just join us, as we learn how the early Christians lived their faith and spread the good news in very difficult times.

Confirmation Mentors Needed
Our Confirmation class for 2021 is well under way and the 9 eighth-grade students will be paired with an adult mentor. This is a wonderful opportunity and is always a rewarding experience. Mentors do not have to be experts or teachers they just need to care about and get to know the student and share some of their faith journey.
The commitment is to meet with the student 2-3 times over the next month and simply come along side them in this chapter of their spiritual journey. Both male and female adults are needed.
Contact Rev. Scott Kail if you are willing to be a mentor at

Mandatory Mexico Meeting
A Mexico Missions Trip informational Rock meeting will be held Sunday, October 24 at 5pm in Guild Hall. All students interested in participating in the trip must attend.

Shoeboxes Filled November 7
We will be filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child in Guild Hall after worship. Samaritan’s Purse collects shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world. Since 1993, more than 188 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.
The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.

Sunday School
Jesus Performs His First Miracle (John 2:1-12). We will be presenting the lesson in person at 10am Sunday.
Sunday school material is available online for those of you who wish to worship at home.

An Urgent Need
Piedmont Church members have helped change the lives of hundreds of children.
Learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic has especially harmed
elementary school students most impacted by poverty and educational inequity. As the achievement gap widens, they will be robbed of the education they need to build a better future. Personalized tutoring in second and third grade can make all the difference.
Children Rising, a ministry supported by our church for many years, makes it easy for you to ‘come alongside’ a struggling child and help them advance in their math or reading skills. They provide tutor training and on-site support throughout the year.
Currently, there is only one in-person school and the rest of us are tutoring online. No prior teaching experience is required and 1-2 hours a week is all it takes.
The last tutor training for fall is October 12 and 13.

Church Shines
In Yelp! Review
Read what a groom has to say on Yelp! about his recent wedding at Piedmont Church
"My partner and I had our wedding at Piedmont Community Church in August 2021 and it was truly an incredible event.
Carol Leslie helped us coordinate a beautiful ceremony and every agreed afterwards that it was a wedding to remember. Carol was so, so helpful to us giving advice at every step along the way and helping us plan and coordinate. We had our reception in the guild hall and our cocktails and dancing in the rose garden and things could not have gone smoother.
My partner grew up in the area and has been attending services at the Piedmont Community Church since she was a child and it's safe to say that having our wedding there turn out so well was a dream come true. 100% would recommend to anyone who is having an event to have it at Piedmont Community Church!
Thank you so much Carol, you're the best!"
