I have spent my life existing as much as possible on the outside of society. An outlier if you will. Yes I know that in the big picture that's not actually true, but all it really meant was that I never worried about market crashes, societal unrest or pandemics. Often I didn't even know they were happening. I simply headed off in my canoe and waited for it to end. I’m a little more tuned into society these days and so I’m feeling the results of Covid-19 in many of the ways everyone is. But I’m one of the lucky ones. I can stay at home (because I have one) and I can catch up on a to-do list (because I have one) and I can plan out new creative ventures (because my financial life is stable). But although my childhood background has never been a secret when I’ve been interviewed, it bears repeating now just enough to mention that I came from dysfunctional, lower economic class beginnings. So I know from 40 years of experience that getting through this pandemic can be incredibly difficult for many of us. I’m not going to express an opinion on any of the events of the day. Rather, I simply want to state that I hope you can all diligently seek out the silver linings to these pandemic clouds. Find the new ways to be and the new things to do that keep you going, feeling inspired and motivated. This is the key to getting past all this. Putting one step in front of the other is what you need to do. But take the first step.
I’ve been trying to help you pass some of the sheltered-in-place hours with various new video uploads to
YouTube
. Some of it is archive, some is repurposed older material that is still relevant and some is fun and new. It’s all going up to inspire and motivate and entertain.
The Directors Commentaries seem to be a favourite amongst you all so I will keep them coming! I’m now uploading a ton of live music videos and will work to add new How-To vids along with furthering the saga of
Survivorman
Covid 1-9
(which I hope is bringing you a smile or two).
