Historic Advisors LLC, a nationally-recognized historic tax credit
certification consulting firm, is pleased to welcome Susan Baldwin
Burian as Senior Affiliate in our
Midwest Office. Susan joins MHA as a well-regarded historic
preservation consultant with over twenty years experience in
Chicago and throughout Illinois. While MHA and Susan have been
collaborating on project work since 2006, the current move
formalizes our relationship and expands our capacity to offer
professional historic preservation consulting services in Chicago
and throughout the Midwest.
Most recently, as founder and owner of the Chicago-based Baldwin
Historic Properties, Susan provided historic preservation
consulting services on many high-profile rehabilitation projects
throughout Illinois. Previously, Susan served as a preservation
planner and architectural historian with the Illinois Historic
Preservation Agency.
In her career, Susan has designated over 40 properties and historic
districts on the National Register of Historic Places and as
Chicago Landmarks, and has consulted on over 200 historic
rehabilitation tax credit projects, including hotels and commercial
and residential developments such as the Palmolive Building,
Intercontinental Hotel, One LaSalle Street, the Chicago Building,
the Shubert Theater, the Steuben Club, the Carbide and Carbon
Building, the Fisher Building, and South Water Market, all in
