Pro-Life Hero Goes Home

We were saddened to learn that pro-life hero Sandra Cano had passed away in Georgia on September 30, 2014, after a long battle with throat cancer. For those who don't know, Sandra was "Doe" in the 1973 Doe v. Bolton US Supreme Court companion case to Roe v. Wade. Where the Roe ruling legalized the act of abortion in certain circumstances, the Doe ruling made abortion-on-demand legal in all 50 states.

Sandra's story, as she tells it, was that she visited an attorney while she was pregnant with her fourth child in an attempt to divorce her husband and obtain custody of her other three children who were in foster care. Unbeknownst to her, the attorney tricked her into signing an affidavit that allowed her situation to be used as the grounds for the Doe case.

Exercise Your 2nd Vote

2nd vote is the newest resource for conservatives and pro-life advocates to shop their values every day. 2nd Vote has created a free shoppers app for your smart phone that lets you know where your money goes when you buy gas, the newest gadget, groceries, eat at a restaurant, and even when you support a charity.

More often than not, you may find yourself supporting a group, cause, or organization you would not support on your own or vote for with your first vote at the ballot box every other November.

The team at 2nd Vote has researched over 500 companies and scored them on a 1-5, liberal to conservative scale, on the issues they support with your money after you spend it with them. The score points out where a business stands on the issues of Life, Marriage, 2nd Amendment, Environmentalism, Corporate Welfare, and Education (Common Core and School Choice).

For years, liberals and abortion proponents have bullied companies like Starbucks and Walgreens and organizations like UNICEF and the YWCA into funding groups such as Planned Parenthood, NARAL and the Human Rights Campaign through financial contributions.

IRS to Target Sermon Content

To a lost and fallen world, Christianity is dangerous. It shines a light on darkness, reveals lies, and tells people the truth.

This poses a threat to a government that practices evil, such as condoning the killing of innocent children.

History is replete with examples of oppressive governments trying to silence churches.

One of the most tragic examples is Nazi Germany, where Hitler and his henchmen waged a near-perfect campaign to silence Christians.

As The New York Times reported: "In the 1920's, as they battled for power, the Nazis realized that the churches in overwhelming Christian Germany, needed to be neutralized before they would get anywhere."

Emphasizing that fact, the leader of the German youth corps said: "...the destruction of Christianity was explicitly recognized as a purpose of the National Socialist movement."

That strategy led the Nazis to lie and make deals with the churches, while at the same time planning a "slow and cautious policy of gradual encroachment" to eliminate Christianity.

This article is not intended to suggest that anyone is emulating Adolph Hitler, or that a Nazi party is about to be formed.

It does, however, attempt to show a frightening similarity between the attitudes toward Christianity in World War II Germany and modern America.

Susan G. Komen: Trick or Treat?
In May 1990,  my mother lost her 7 year battle with breast cancer at the age of 57. It was an unspeakable loss for me...

My father and I cared for her together at home until the end. For many years following, I generously supported Susan G. Komen and Race for the Cure. Each year, my family would walk in memory of my mother and to honor others who still struggled.

A few years later, my eyes were opened to the irony of the Komen/Planned Parenthood Connection and I withdrew my support. First, I understood that Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the world. Second, I realized that abortion had been linked to breast cancer for years and the research continued to become more clear. And third, I learned that Susan G. Komen contributed over $3 million dollars to Planned Parenthood between 2003 and 2008.

Even today, I remain dumbstruck at the continued relationship between Susan G. Komen and Planned Parenthood. For 25 years now, October has been a time to help raise awareness of the impact of breast cancer. This October, let's help spread the word about a leading cause of breast cancer - abortion.
