CELEBRATING MY 80th BIRTHDAY
I did not want a surprise party or a party like we had for my 70th Birthday. What I wanted was a small celebration that I actually reached 80!
My party will be held via Zoom on
December 10 from 10-11:30 AM PST
To attend RSVP "yes" to: svvconsult@svanvleetconsult.com
As I look back on my life I am continually surprised at what I have accomplished. As a litte girl in Trenton, NJ I dreamed of going to the countries described in my Lands & Peoples Encyclopedia. I have definitely accomplished that early dream and much more! I have met so many of you in the US, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, Singapore, Japan, China, Switzerland,Germany, England and Australia. I have met so many of your families and celebrated all the new births and mourned the losses. I have tasted your foods and celebrated your holidays.
I have been so blessed with your support and friendship.
Thank You!
I am very satisfied with what I have created and the work I have done.
And my two WMF® trainers Lorrie Tietze and Kate Johnson who are both expert trainers.Their scheduled WMF® and Advanced WMF® are in the schedule.
So For my 80th I don't want you to spend your $ on presents for me. Instead please consider using that money to donate to some of my favorite programs.
Here are some URL Links and descriptions of 3 programs I support at Rutgers University in my home State of NJ.
Please help if you can.
First, The IFF Fellows program
As many of you know I am a social worker and I have worked for many years in Child Welfare. I worked in Foster Care placing kids at risk in foster homes and developing education programs for folks who wanted to be foster parents.
This program supports Foster Kids who want to go to college but for whatever reason are homeless or soon to be homeless. I have been impressed with what they are able to accomplish like making sure most of the kids in the program start and finish their college degrees. They also work with the kids that leave school.

The Second Program is REV, Center for Research on Ending Violence.
As a social worker I dealt with many women who were the victims of assault. In Women Moving Forward® almost 60% of every workshop are women who are survivors of violence; sexual and otherwise. Rev is doing the work to find ways to stop violence where ever it exists. Their research helps social workers, police and other professionals help victims and eradicate
the violence. REV also works to eliminate the power imbalances at the core of what permits violence in the first place.

The third program is near and dear to my heart; The Bildner Center
Dr.Nancy Sinkoff, the Director has become a friend. She has been a great advocate for students and faculty at Rutgers. I support their film festival so Jewish film makers have a showcase for their work.
The Center supports students with
scholarships and internships, educates public school teachers on the history of the Holocaust, and ensures that Jewish history, culture, and experience play an integral, visible role on campus and throughout New Jersey.
They provide Insight, counter ignorance and build hope in these challenging times.

Susan
