LimeHave You Tried LimeBike?

LimeBike is the City's new bike sharing program available to everyone. Rides cost $1/30 minutes. To ride a LimeBike, download the app onto your smartphone, scan the bike number, strap on a helmet, ride, enjoy and park smart. Try out a free ride on the bikes with the promo code "CityofTrees."

The City has received complaints of bikes being left on residential property and blocking sidewalks. LimeBike is a dockless model - bicycles can be ridden anywhere and are not returned to docking stations. The benefit of such a program is the flexibility it offers users. However, it relies on users parking smart. Click here to watch a brief (and entertaining) video about parking smart. Parking smart means never leaving the bike on the ground and never blocking pedestrian access or private property. Contact LimeBike's 24/7 customer service with any complaints about a LimeBike in the way.

thiefSuspect in Rash of Burlingame Thefts Arrested

Yesterday morning, a Burlingame resident reported theft of his backpack and laptop from his unlocked vehicle to Burlingame police. Fortunately, the victim was able to track his stolen items to the vicinity of Woodlake Shopping Center in San Mateo where Burlingame Police were then able to arrest the suspect.  The police were able to recover additional items - also stolen from Burlingame residents' unlocked vehicles - at the time of the arrest.

The City has been experiencing a recent surge in thefts from unlocked vehicles, specifically in residential neighborhoods.  The Burlingame Police Department is urging residents and visitors to lock car doors and avoid leaving valuables in their cars.
