VALLEJO - Two suspects were arrested Saturday night after leading officers on a dangerous high-speed chase in the City of Vallejo.
On July 31, 2021 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Vallejo Police Officers located a vehicle wanted in connection to a felony arrest in a parking lot in the 100 Block of Robles Way. As officers attempted to make an enforcement stop, the vehicle sped away. Spikes were deployed but the vehicle swerved to avoid contact and continued to flee the parking lot.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Scot Troy Babot Jr. of Vallejo, then led officers on a pursuit on surface streets and neighboring highways. At several points, the driver dangerously drove the vehicle on the wrong side of the roadway, leading officers to cancel the pursuit in certain areas.
A CHP air unit, however, was able to locate the vehicle leading to a re-initiation of the pursuit on I-680 South just beyond Highway 4. After losing a tire, Babot Jr. tried to make a U-turn and collided into the center-divide, proceeding to drive the wrong-way into oncoming traffic.
Shortly after, the suspect vehicle came to an abrupt stop when Babot Jr. and the passenger, 30-year-old Cirelle Valencia Adams of Vallejo, both ran from the vehicle and attempted to carjack two separate vehicles on the freeway to escape arrest. Officers would eventually apprehend both suspects, who had several outstanding felony warrants for their arrest. The suspects did not have a gun.
Both Babot Jr. and Adams were arrested on multiple charges including evading by driving on the wrong side of the roadway, disregard for public safety, driving without a license, attempted carjacking and felony warrants. The Vallejo Police Department would like to thank our allied agency partners at CHP Air for assisting in this pursuit.
