Sussex County Land Trust unveils Nanticoke Crossing Park master plan

The Sussex County Land Trust, in partnership with Sussex County government, during a late June public celebration unveiled a long-range plan for the 42-acre Nanticoke Crossing Park property near Laurel, which will include walking trails, a kayak launch, and wildlife habitat along the historic waterway in southwestern Sussex. The County government was one of several partners to assist in providing funding for the $1.2 million purchase of the land in 2021. Learn more ...

Every year, Sussex County's Environmental Services Division removes thousands of pounds of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) that users have dumped into the public wastewater system, accumulating within underground pipes that then clog the distribution system and affect the flow of wastewater through pump stations and treatment facilities.
