We hope everyone made it home safely on Thursday during our first snow storm of the season.

Book Fair will be open this week on Tuesday only. Volunteers are needed to help with sales and breakdown. Please contact Lynn Gutkin at lynngutkin@icloud.com if you can help. Online book fair sales run through Wednesday.

Donations are still needed for the Thanksgiving Food Drive, the Student Council Pajama Drive, Sussex Food Drive run by 3rd grade Girl Scout Troop 96637 and for grade specific technology projects planned by Ms. Kelly. Details are below. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Tickets for the Morristown Harlem Wizards event on December 8th are still on sale. This is a district wide fundraiser in which the HSA receives a portion of all Sussex ticket sales. Here is the link to purchase tickets - bit.ly/wizardtickets

Reminder that Wednesday is a 4 hr 20 minute day and school is closed Thursday and Friday. We wish you and your family a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

BOOK FAIR EXTENDED- ONE DAY ONLY!

Due to school closure on Friday, we could not run our final book fair day as planned. The last day of the book fair will now be Tuesday, November 20th .  

We need volunteers to help with sales from 9:00-11:00am and breakdown from 11:00am to 1:00pm. If you can help, please email lynngutkin@icloud.com

THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS

Please send in your Thanksgiving Drive donations. Each class brought home a list of suggested items to make food baskets for those in need this holiday season. We especially need turkeys. Please contact Nurse Ruta at Linda.Ruta@msdk12.net with questions.

Ms. Kelly has p lans to have students in technology complete some fun, low budget projects. Links to the projects and items needed are below.

3rd grade Explore Gravity with a Pom Pom Drop. Items needed: toilet paper and paper towel rolls, small poms poms, small rubber balls, tape

4th grade:   Wood in the Bath Tub Items needed: wooden clothespins, craft sticks, and binder clips, tape

5th grade: Items needed: shoe boxes, craft sticks, tape 


STUDENT COUNCIL PAJAMA DRIVE

This is a wonderful event run by our Sussex Ave Student Council representatives to provide pjs for those less fortunate. Collection runs now through November 30.



HARLEM WIZARDS - DISTRICT-WIDE EVENT

Are you ready Sussex? The high-flying, slam-dunking, rim-rattling Harlem Wizards are coming to Morristown. Tickets are on sale now!! GIRL SCOUT FOOD DRIVE - Ends November 20th

Sussex Avenue's 3rd Grade Girl Scout Troop 96637 is organizing this year's annual fall food drive which will benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry. Their goal is to collect and donate 500 lbs of food to help local families in need. With the holidays and winter approaching quickly, please help them reach their goal by donating non-perishable food such as stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, soup, canned vegetables, turkey gravy, rice, pasta, sauce, canned beans, cereal, coffee, canned fruit, brownie mix, fruit juice, baby food, wipes, diapers, etc. 

The food drive is going on now through  November 20th.   Please label your donations in a bag with the name of your child's teacher.  The classroom that donates the most items WINS a Popcorn and Pajama Party!  
Auditions for Morristown Onstage: History Happens Here! 


Morristown Onstage, the MEF's premier fundraising talent show will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Now is your chance to share your unique talent. The area's best amateur talent can audition on December 15, 2018 at MHS for a chance to win one of three prizes ($1000 for 19 & older, $1000 for 18 & younger, $500 for viewers' choice). If you live, work, train or go to school in Morristown, Morris Township or Morris Plains, or if you are a Morristown High School alum you can audition. Don't miss your chance!
