We hope you have a wonderful week! We would like to thank Lynn Gutkin for organizing the first school store of the year and all the volunteers who helped make it a great success! The kids had a blast shopping!  Thank you to Nicole Cornine as well for organizing our Welcome Back Picnic.

Fall Clubs begin this week.  Details below. If your child will be staying after school for a club, please send in a note. Without a note, your child cannot stay after school for the club.

Back to School Night is Tuesday, September 25th, at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers. Spirit Wear will be available to purchase that evening. 

Our first HSA meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, September 27th, at 9:30am in the Media Center.  Join Mrs. Vaccaro and the HSA Board to learn about all the exciting things happening at Sussex Ave School this year.  

The first Spirit Day is Friday, September 28th. Students should wear their blue and white (and pink) Sussex Wear!

SUSSEX AVENUE FALL CLUBS! !

Fall Clubs start this week! 

Fall clubs will begin on Monday 9/24 and run for six weeks. The only exceptions are Wednesday clubs. There will be no clubs on Wednesday 10/31. They are rescheduled for 11/14.

You MUST send in a pick-up note addressed to your child's teacher on the first day of clubs indicating that your child will be attending a club . You may send in one pick-up note and list all the dates. Your child will not be allowed to stay after without this note.

If your child is not returning to Sunset, pick-up will be at 4:30. If someone else is picking up your child (grandparent, neighbor), you must send in an additional note to the club leader with the person's name. They will be asked for ID at pick-up.

Fall Fundraiser - Volunteer needed!

Our fall catalog fundraiser will kick-off at the end of this week. We are still looking for a co-chair. This is the perfect job for a working parent as the work can be done on your own schedule. Please contact Lauren Hassan ( [email protected] )
Sussex Avenue School Spiritwear - Sweatshirts

The Sussex Avenue HSA will be offering zip-up hooded sweatshirts for $30 this fall (blue sweatshirt, white logo on back - see attached for photo). This item will be a preorder ONLY. If you are interested in ordering, please fill out the order form which can be accessed by clicking HERE . Please indicate the size and send the order form in with payment via backpack mail to the Sussex HSA (attn: Karen Doyle/Ms. Folmar's class).

We will have samples of the Medium and Large at Back to School Night. Please note that the youth size small and medium run very small. We suggest that you go up a size if your child typically takes a small or medium.
School Directory .

The Sussex HSA publishes an annual school directory that lists the names of students and parents/guardians, addresses, phone numbers and emails. Many families find the directory useful when planning social activities, communicating with other families about homework, or helping with HSA committee work. If you would like to be included in the Directory please use the link below (also on our website) to complete the online form. Please note, we will only be collecting this information electronically. A paper form will be not sent home. The information collected on this form will only be used by the HSA for publication in the Sussex Avenue Directory.
