Earth Day: An Opportunity to reThink Your Commute
April 22, 2018 is Earth Day, an annual event celebrated by individuals and companies in different ways. Some companies demonstrate their commitment to sustainability by switching to energy efficient light bulbs. An individual can bring reusable bags to the grocery store to show they live a "green" lifestyle.

But did you know that your commute has an even bigger impact on the environment?

Transportation is now the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, followed closely by electricity production. Reducing the number of miles you drive alone to work is a way you can live a sustainable lifestyle.

Making small changes can make a big difference, even if it's just carpooling one day a week. If we are not already working with your company, help us make an even bigger impact by connecting us to your management team. Learn more about how we work with employers.

Palm Coast Commuters Invited to 5th Annual Cycle de Mayo Ride
On Friday, May 11, 2018, we will co-host the 5th Annual Cycle de Mayo event for Flagler County Public School faculty, staff, and parents.

The event is an opportunity to bike to work with co-workers, competing as a team for top honors as the largest team.

We will meet up at 6:00 a.m. at Central Park (975 Central Avenue, Palm Coast), where you can make sure your tires are pumped up and learn safe cycling tips. Teams will leave at 6:30 a.m., biking as a group to their final destination.

Can't join us? Make sure to check our Facebook page for pictures from the event.

More Than Just Bikes!
Between the Kissimmee Bike Bonanza and the "Not So Noisy" Bike Week, we have been organizing a lot of bike events lately.

But we are more than just a bike program!

With 80% of commuters driving alone to work, the next best commute option for many people may be carpooling. By connecting co-workers and neighbors to form carpool groups, we can help you save money and improve our region's quality of life.

The first step is finding potential carpool partners. We can help you get started by providing a list of potential carpool partners. If you've already signed up, but did not find a carpool partner, request an updated list.

Get Ready for Go DTO 2018!
For the past two years, we have hosted the Go DTO: Downtown Orlando Commute Challenge during the month of May.

This year, we are taking a new approach.

Here's what you have to look forward to, starting in June and rolling through November:
  • A focus on bus routes to get to Downtown Orlando in 20 minutes or less
  • Celebrating the southern expansion of SunRail to Kissimmee and Poinciana
  • Highlighting the benefits of telecommuting and companies that are implementing successful programs
  • Promoting new vanpools traveling to DTO from Apopka, Davenport, and more
  • The 19th Annual City of Orlando Bike to Work Day

Do you have a great idea on how to promote transit, ridesharing, biking, or walking to work in Downtown Orlando? Let us know!
