The Climate Action Plan Emission Reduction Strategies (CAPERS) team formed in 2019 to help with the town of Princeton’s Climate Action Plan. Since then, CAPERS has been working with Sustainable Princeton and the town’s environmental planning committee to implement key actions in different areas of the plan - energy, energy efficiency, storm resilience, etc. The Office of Sustainability received funding from the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) and the High Meadows Foundation Sustainability Fund to support a Graduate Student mentor to provide analytic skills and support the undergraduate students involved with CAPERS. We recently interviewed the CAPERS mentor, Nic Choquette-Levy (pictured), Graduate Student in the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, to learn more about what CAPERS has been up to recently and how current Princeton students can get involved!

During Wintersession, the Office of Sustainability hosted two workshops for the campus community on the topics of Environmental Justice (pictured) and Climate Emotions. Wintersession is a two-week experience for Princeton University community members to experiment and explore through unexpected, active and intriguing non-graded learning and growth opportunities.
The Office of Sustainability's Communications Assistant, Jack Sullivan '22 interviewed the organizers of both workshops to recap their experiences and takeaways, as well as highlight upcoming events and programming that build from these efforts.
