Join us at our annual Earth Day Festival where you can connect with neighbors and learn more about Sustainability and Climate Action. The festival is tomorrow, Sunday, April 27 at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1 – 4 p.m. Take photos at the Watershed Protection photobooth, play zero waste trivia games, take a garden tour and take advantage of plant giveaways, visit Sequoia the Bald Eagle on her birthday, and more! You can even connect with the Palo Alto City Library for storytimes or to check out their various resources, including a One Million Acts of Science challenge, Local Gardening Resources, and the Library of Things collection, which will include induction hobs to borrow this summer. The Festival is free and a great opportunity to find actionable ways to contribute to a greener community. Plus, learn more and sign the Planet Protection Pledge with a sidewalk chalk twist.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan Update

Community engagement on the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan continues. Share feedback on proposed bicycle network & facilities, projects and programs, and pedestrian improvements. An online interactive map and comment tool closes April 30, 2025. Input will help inform a draft plan to be released this Fall.

South Palo Alto Bike/Ped Connectivity

The previous 2012 Bike Ped Plan identified a critical need for grade-separated bicycle and pedestrian pathways. The South Palo Alto Bike/Ped Connectivity project will identify community-supported locations and design concepts where two new grade-separated bicycle and pedestrian pathways across the Caltrain railroad tracks may be constructed. Share input to help select the preferred crossing locations, designs, and improvements through an online survey, extended to May 15.
