Sustainability Tip of the Month

It's the Season to be Thankful. And Green!

You can have your turkey- just eat it too!

Did you know that 200 million pounds of turkey are tossed out in the US each year at Thanksgiving time? Not only is it tough on the pocketbook, food waste is hard on the planet. This Thanksgiving, commit to reducing waste.

With a little planning you and your loved ones can enjoy a more sustainable holiday season. Here are some ideas to simplify your festivities and help you focus on what really counts.

Another way to save money and reduce waste: Skip the frenetic shopping spree and celebrate Green Friday by getting outside! Plan a hike or picnic and use up those delicious Thanksgiving leftovers.

This holiday: Gather together. Be thankful. Keep it simple.
