Introducing the Sustainability Newsletter

Hello! You're receiving this newsletter because you signed up for sustainability updates from either the Town of Tiburon or the City of Mill Valley. We've joined forces and brought in a new Climate Action (Sustainability) Coordinator, Grace Ledwith, and one of her new initiatives is to create a monthly newsletter to keep you in the loop on all the latest sustainability news happening right here in town and around Marin. We hope you enjoy it, and thanks for being a part of our sustainability community! Learn more about the new position.

$0.25 Cup Charge Starting November 10th

Tiburon and Mill Valley have both adopted the Reusable Foodware Ordinance introduced by Marin County. The ordinance includes a $0.25 charge for non-reusable cups to help reduce single use waste. Businesses who provide take away food services keep this money to help their transition to more sustainable foodware. Enforcement of this ordinance begins November 10th. Marin Sustainability Tracker

Are you familiar with the Marin Sustainability Tracker? This tool from the Marin Climate and Energy Partnership (MCEP) is an interactive map that shows how each jurisdiction is doing in terms of sustainable development. It covers categories such as energy, transportation, green house gas emissions, waste, and water. Check out the tracker here
