Webinar for Prospective C Street Village Community Members

C Street Village Cohousing is starting a monthly webinar on cohousing and what’s happening in Novato specifically. We are targeting new and prospective members. John Caye, our project manager, will be presenting. There will be time for questions. The webinars will be on the third Wednesday of every month from 8:00 to 9:00 pm.

Sustainability &

C Street Village Cohousing

C Street Village Cohousing is an intentional and intergenerational community committed to sustainability. Sustainability has been one of our goals since our inception.

Our intent is to be as close to ZERO NET ENERGY (NZE) as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we will incorporate extensive use of solar panels and battery storage coupled with high value insulation, heat pumps, induction stove tops, energy-smart appliances, and whole house fans.

To extend our sustainability efforts to include transportation, we are fortunate to be within walking distance of public transportation, including the SMART Train, bus routes, and the airport terminal. Additionally, we will be providing shared electric vehicles for community use and will have vehicle charging facilities available to residents and guests.

We have also developed a relationship with an experienced sustainability consultant to develop a detailed plan along with our architect to ensure that sustainability is achieved at C Street Village.

Meet Our Community Member,

Joselle

Joselle is an empty nester with two young adults off to college. CJ (23) and Cammie (21) had filled her recent life. It was now time for a new adventure!

As a retired Intensive Care Nursery R.N., she knew working with families is rewarding. Finding cohousing seemed the perfect answer to a private home and an enjoyable enriching experience in a community full of interactions and relationships. An even greater bonus was a home that strove to be sustainable, economically attainable, and morally conscious of the environment. Joselle wanted to involve herself with purposeful work and one that taught her new skills. She said “I’m in!”

Joselle loves taking her 2 small dogs on Marin’s beautiful hiking trails, cooking, staying fit/aging gracefully, traveling and continued learning!

We are looking forward to more good times like these once we can safely gather again!

In cohousing , one receives the benefits of living a connected life, while maintaining a private sanctuary in your own home. The private homes in C Street Village will have open floor plans and are designed to be filled with natural light, built with sustainable materials, advanced sound-proofing techniques, passive cooling and heating, front porches, and more. There are thirty two private homes with two, three, and four bedroom options available. There will also be 8 one bedroom and studio rental units (carriage units).
