Do It in the Dark!

Green Princeton is running a 3-week long energy reduction competition, from April 3 to April 22, between the residential colleges. The college that lowers its energy usage the most wins a study break of its choice! Check your standings on the leaderboard and save energy by following these easy tips:

  1. Turn off the lights when you leave the room
  2. Unplug electronics when they are done charging and unplug cords when not in use
  3. Work in common spaces 
  4. Work outside (weather permitting)

Earth Day Celebration
Come join the Earth Day Celebration on the Frist Campus Center South Lawn from 2-5 p.m. Sponsored by the Office of Sustainability, Pace Center for Civic Engagement, and the High Meadows Foundation Sustainability Fund, the Earth Day Celebration will include information about Earth Day and sustainability, performances by student groups, as well as food and beverages. During the event, the winner of the "Do it in the Dark" energy-saving competition will be announced.
Princeton Garden Project Earth Week Activities

Everyone is welcome to participate in an Earth Day work session from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on April 22 in the student-run Forbes Garden at 79 Alexander Road. Volunteers will plant, water, weed and help with general garden activities. There will also be a workday on Sunday the 24th from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. as well as yoga at 7pm followed by a campfire at 8pm. Yoga will be a one-hour vinyasa style class - no experience necessary! 
 

Tiger Chef Challenge

Attend the inaugural Tiger Chef Challenge on Earth Day, April 22, from 4-7 p.m. under the tent on Alexander Beach. The event will include an Iron Chef-like competition, during which seven teams representing each residential college plus the Graduate College will compete to see who has the best plant-based entrée. Stroll through the Earth Day Food Expo with complimentary food samples. There will be a demonstration garden area which will highlight vertical gardening, composting and waste oil recycling. 

Banff Mountain Film Festival

Princeton University’s Outdoor Action Program is hosting the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival 2016 on Friday April 22 and Saturday April 23 from 7:00-10:30 p.m. in McCoshHall, Room 10. Join Princeton students, staff faculty, and the local community for this campus favorite that combines awe-inspiring films and an intermission gear raffle! The spectacular action-packed films feature rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, mountain biking, extreme skiing and explorations of the natural world.
