Greetings!
The Center is experiencing lots of positive growth! So much growth that a whole new position was created to help steward it all: a Membership Manager. This brand-new role will help ensure that our membership growth continues to increase in a sustainable way. Too often, non-profits can fall into the trap of growth for growth’s sake, resulting in a glut of members all feeling like just another number and without being able to be given the inclusory attention and involvement that inspired them to want to become members in the first place. Not us. We want to be able to continue sufficiently providing Members of The Center with the kind of white-glove attention they deserve.

So, whom did we select to fill the new needed role of Membership Manager? None other than our very own Charles Huff! His gregariousness, welcoming demeanor, and empathetic leadership as Senior Manager of Volunteers & Engagement not only made him beloved by our volunteers and by all those with whom he engages at The Center’s events, but also made him stand out amid the pool of applicants as proven and demonstrated success in working with a wide diversity of peoples across the Coachella Valley!

You can get to know more about Charles and his new role as Membership Manager here. And if you or a friend would like to become our newest Member, Charles and the rest of our team would love to have you! Or, if you or a friend would like to start a rewarding career here at The Center, we are currently on the search for a Food Bank Coordinator to manage our invaluable Community Food Bank, and for a brand new position of Major Gifts Officer to help grow and cultivate our increasing pipeline of major donors.

And also, if you’d like to meet Charles and congratulate him on his new role, he’ll be in attendance at our monthly Center Social tonight at Toucans (see full info below)!

Things are changing rapidly with the monkeypox pandemic in the Coachella Valley. As of this past Thursday (7/21) a very limited number of vaccines are being made available to select high-risk individuals at three places: Borrego Health, DAP Health, and Eisenhower Health. More vaccines are on the way; Riverside County is releasing them to providers as fast as they receive them from the state. Please contact each for availability and their current vaccination criteria.

For more information, see the Riverside University Health System’s website here.
