13 The Musical Brings a Fun Coming-of-Age Musical to the Sutter Street Stage
Music and Lyrics by Jason Robert Brown
Book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn
Directed by Allen Schmeltz
Musical Direction by Christine Irish
Choreography by Dian Hoel

Geek. Poser. Jock. Beauty Queen. Wannabe. These are the labels that can last a lifetime. With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County) 13 is a musical about fitting in – and standing out!

Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain… or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!?

13 The Musical plays through November 24, 2019 on Sat. and Sun. at 1:00pm (No Performance on November 3)

Rated: PG

Tickets are: General $18, Seniors $16, Students with ID $15, Children 12 and under $13. For online reservations go to www.SutterStreetTheatre.com or call (916) 353-1001.

One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century – as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife, Maira, from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.

The comedy is directed by Conrad Cecil who has a master’s degree in Directing from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and King’s College, London, and is a graduate of East 15 Acting School, London.

He has performed with the National Theatre Workshop (London), at the Avignon Festival (France) and at The Actors Company (LA) in Shirley Lauro’s The Radiant , directed by Jane Edwina Seymour. In Paris, France, he collaborated with filmmaker Werner Schroeter to stage Madame fait ce qu’elle dit by Roland Dubillard at the Théâtre du Rond-Point, Champs-Elysees, Paris.

Comedy of Tenors stars Shane Burrows, Mike Jimena, Rich Kirlin and Janine La Forge with a supporting cast of Ren Elser, Connie Mockenhaupt and Kevin Nolan.

Rated PG
