Happy Halloween! Lately, our Wisconsin Halloweens seem to have had a pattern of alternating balmy and frigid years. Last year, it was almost 70 degrees F for the Trick-or-Treaters, and this morning there was a half-inch of snow on the ground. We look forward to seeing all the kids with their costumes layered over their parkas as they traipse through our neighborhood this evening.

Some of you extra tall gardeners have asked us when the 60" CobraHead Long Handle will be back in stock. I am happy to report that today is that day! Just a note: we typically recommend this handle length for gardeners 6'2" or taller since the overall balance may otherwise feel unwieldy.

As you can see from the photo here, we had a bountiful sweet potato harvest this year, so we're sharing one of our longtime family favorite recipes. This one's been a hit at every potluck we've ever brought them to!

A week and a half ago, I drove out to the edge of town so I could take some photos of these rows of trees in their full fall color glory. These trees are planted as windbreaks at the edges of farm fields. The window to catch trees at their peak color can be kind of slim, but I was lucky to get a beautiful sunny day for these.
