Three - Here is a picture of the tiered garden that future Eagle Scout Dylan Burns and his team constructed adjacent the church parking spaces last weekend. Great job, Dylan!
Four - The Community Garden in partnership with Lake Forest College is on a roll! Thanks to many people for getting the weeding and the planting done! What's m ost exciting about the garden is that all produce from our beds will benefit those who are food insecure and without the means to choose organic produce. Our partner organization is Beacon Place.
(no garden gathering this Saturday morning)
Pictured are gardeners Kelli Morehead, Kim Nyland, Zach and McKenna Morehead. Thank you!
Five - Quote of the Day , offered by my friend Richard on the driving range: "I never lose. Either I win...or I learn."
Six - Yes, that time is upon us - get ready for the fabulous
63rd Annual Community Church Picnic to be held the last Sunday of this month - J une 30 . We'll have one service at 10:00 a.m., Tom will preach and the church will provide the basic fixin's like hot dogs and burgers. There is no cost, but we do ask that you sign up and bring something to share if possible! Sign up here or at church on Sunday. By the way, we will have a spectacular music team that day, lead by steel drum master Joe Sonnefeldt and king of the marimba lumina Ken Hall! It's a great Sunday to bring guests to our church!
Seven - BIG NEWS!!!
Our Annual Father's Day Services on June 16 will feature the one and only Eva B. Ross providing music! She's in from California for a long weekend of concerts and Ken was able to arrange for Eva to join us. Do not miss this service! Check out this video .Tom will preach and (humbly!) sing " New Old Spice ," a song he wrote that's dedicated to his Dad. It's a great service each year.
Eight - We're still in the planning stages, but keep your eyes open in the next few weeks for a new POW workshop with Matt Dewar titled "Breath of Life." The truth is this - that breath, and how we breathe, is central to how we feel and perform. We're still figuring out when and where to hold it, but when we do we'll let you know how to sign up. Thanks!
Nine - If you haven’t already done so, take a listen to the Community Church’s new podcast: Babbling Bohemian. You can find it on any Podcast App by searching for Babbling Bohemian - just look for the Dancing Bohemian logo. Babbling Bohemian is also available on the Community Church website.
Ten - You know those affable, (mostly) hard-working high school and college students who are at the beach setting up at 7:00 am every Sunday morning? Most are looking for additional odd jobs this summer. If you have projects you need done around your home, office, or wherever - approach them on Sunday or email our office manager Pam Campbell

Hi Everyone,

Hopefully this newsletter comes early enough for you to get over on Friday morning to the Farmer’s Market and enjoy the homespun music of Terry Moran. As a musician, it means so much to have a few people stop by and listen quietly - if only for a few moments. The connection we have with listeners is what helps bring our music to the level we strive to achieve.
Please know y our support and encouragement helps musicians from becoming self-indulgent, making it "just a job" or even worse - from our providing uninspired music. We greatly appreciate your response to our music! Also, thanks to all who focus on the music during the offertory at beach services. Lately the offertory has become kind of noisy with conversation, and as a musician and Minister of Music at the church I hope we'll go back to it being a time of quiet reflection and listening! Thank you!

At the beach this Sunday we’ll be enjoying the music of Bobby Newman. Bobby is a wonderful musician and when we first started having music at the beach we basically had Bobby take as many Sundays as he could. Nowadays with all the other great singer-songwriters in the mix he only does two of the beach services, but they are not to be missed!

Off the topic of music I’d like to thank all of you for your amazing support of my son Scott & his wife Lauren’s family with the birth of twins and the challenges young Ryder faces going forward. The meal train has been such a blessing as well as the financial support given through Go Fund Me . Since some folks are still asking for more information on Ryder and how they can help I’m reposting the link - RYDER
