Swim Clinic Details and Format
We have finalized Barclay Downs’ approach to the 2020 swim season, and we are thrilled to offer swim clinics this summer! While we are disappointed that risks from the pandemic are preventing us from enjoying our competitive swim season and meets, we are pleased that our coaches are able to offer these clinics.

The clinics will run for four weeks beginning June 8 and skipping the week of July 4.

  • The purpose is to practice swimming, improve strokes, and meet our coaching team including Lead Coach Enzo. Coach Enzo has promised to be with us also in 2021.
  • Swim clinics run either Monday/Friday OR Wednesday/Saturday. A swimmer must be able to attend both days for all 4 weeks or split the time with another swimmer.
  • Three (3), 30-minute clinic options are available: 8:15-8:45am, 9:00-9:30am, or 9:45-10:15am.
  • Each 30-minute session can accommodate 12 swimmers. There will be 2 swimmers in each lane, each starting from opposite ends of the pool.
  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions for physical distancing, all swim clinic participants must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted prior to the first clinic.
  • The cost will be $25 per clinic registration (4 weeks). You can pay via check (preferable option; made payable to BDSRC) when you arrive to the first session OR we can charge your account through the new operating system (see more information below) after you sign up.
  • If you are splitting the clinic with a friend, please have the person who signed up pay for the clinic in full. We need to have only one person responsible for payment.

In addition to working with Coach Enzo, swimmers will enjoy working with Lead Assistant Coach Dima, and Assistant Coaches Katherine Ku, Caroline Ku, Megan Leo, and Connor Neely.

Limited private lessons for more inexperienced swimmers will be offered by Coach Enzo. Capacity will be evaluated and additional lessons may be offered by other coaches. We are exploring all options and will forward more information soon.

New Procedures at Snack Bar
The Snack Bar will open Saturday, June 6 at 10:30am. We have a great staff who has been working hard to get ready for you! They are training on our new Club Management Software system-- please read carefully below about how to establish credit on your account.

The week of June 6 will be a soft opening given both new sanitization procedures and our new operating system. Only pre-packaged items (candy, chips, ice cream, etc) will be available. Beginning June 13, the full menu including hot items (chicken tenders, pretzels, etc.) will be available.

Club Management Software
As we have highlighted previously, Barclay Downs has transitioned to a Club Management software system that allows us to track membership, attendance at the pool, and guest payments (when guests are once again allowed). The system will also be used by our snack bar staff for member purchases. Importantly this year, it allows us to go cashless and use credit card payments. The board has decided to use credit cards for snack bar purchases to minimize touchpoints between members and staff.
Establishing Credit on Your Account
Member accounts are now available that you can access remotely. You can establish a credit balance at the snack bar as well as view daily purchases and payments. This is a secure site.

To establish a credit balance before arriving at the snack bar, complete the following:
  • Log on here. Your user name is your member email registered in the BD database on, and the password is barclay. Change your password once you log in.
  • At the top of the screen, select OnLine Payments.
  • Select new credit card.
  • Complete the card information. The Holder Name is the name that will be on your account.
  • Enter the amount you would like to put on your account (no minimum; limit is $100).
  • Click Pay Now to make a payment and establish the credit balance.

When you establish a credit balance, it takes effect immediately. Save this link for future use. If you want to establish a small credit amount as your child is going to the pool, you can. And you can track the spending as well.

Note this credit balance is for your entire family, not individual members or children. All family members will be connected to your balance, and the credit will show under the name under which the credit was established.

In-person credit card swipes at the snack bar are also accepted to establish a credit balance.
Personal checks are also accepted.

Whole dollar bills will be accepted, but please be aware that no change shall be issued in order to eliminate cash transfers. All change amounts will be placed on your member account as a credit.

As in previous years, we prefer that no tab remain at the end of the season. If any tab remains this year, we believe that it may be able to deduct from your annual dues, but we will not be able to return any cash.

This is a brand, new system and inevitably will have a few kinks. Please be patient as we work through the processes.
