Hi Friends,
Someone posted on Threads, 'what a year we had last week' and I couldn't agree more. I was so exhausted and sad, I ended up catching a really bad cold and was in bed for a few days feeling very sorry for myself and the world.
Yesterday, we had a cruise ship in St. George's (yay!) and I pulled it together, sniffles and all, to do a tour for a large group from the ship and the first St. George's Swizzle Stroll. For the first one, I was really happy to have my family on the tour! I think this is going to become a really popular excursion and can't wait to get more folks signing up.
This weekend was meant to kick off 'History with a Holiday Twist' but that's cancelled as I now have a private booking, sooo, that means the first one will be on November 23. Am really excited to offer our tour guests special discounts, prize draws and giveaways from Lili Bermuda Perfumery, Saltwater Jewellery, Lacquered Lounge, Dragon's Lair Gallery and of course my shop Long Story Short. So join us for the tour, and bring your Holiday shopping list! Private tours are also available so if you're looking for a fun Christmas outing for your friends and colleagues, this is it!
PLUS we also have been unpacking so many new goodies, with more arriving all the time... books, baskets, mugs, candles, linens. Guys, I even got some dope new pet toys in honour of my bestie Brandi!
I also have some REALLY BIG NEWS regarding my store, so please follow us on socials and stay tuned to this newsletter.
Sending you all love and light during these crazy times.
And yes, a lot of this newsletter was about tours with alcohol because of the aforementioned crazy times.

The Case for Palestine: Why It Matters and Why You Should Care |
In 1948, the State of Israel was founded. While the philosophy of Zionism that advocated for a Jewish homeland in what was then known as Palestine dates back to 1897, the creation of Israel in 1948 was justified by the terrible crime of the Holocaust committed by Nazi Germany during WWII. Many defenders of Israel would like us to believe that the creation of Israel was a peaceful process on a barely populated land, however, this is far from true. Rather, the creation of Israel was accompanied by what is known by the Palestinians as the Nakba (catastrophe)--an operation in which 700,000 Palestinians were violently expelled from their land and their homes.
Since that time, Israel has continued to usurp more and more land from the Palestinians who they falsely portray as a people without a history and without a culture.

Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto |
***INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER*** Disrupt and push back against capitalism and white supremacy.
In this book, Tricia Hersey, aka The Nap Bishop, encourages us to connect to the liberating power of rest, daydreaming, and naps as a foundation for healing and justice.
What would it be like to live in a well-rested world? Far too many of us have claimed productivity as the cornerstone of success. Brainwashed by capitalism, we subject our bodies and minds to work at an unrealistic, damaging, and machine-level pace -- feeding into the same engine that enslaved millions into brutal labor for its own relentless benefit.
In Rest Is Resistance, Tricia Hersey, aka the Nap Bishop, casts an illuminating light on our troubled relationship with rest and how to imagine and dream our way to a future where rest is exalted.

I Did a New Thing: 30 Days to Living Free (Feeding the Soul Book) |
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER America's Mom Tabitha Brown presents an inspirational guide for encouraging positive changes in your life--one day and one challenge at a time. I did a new thing today! Years ago, Tabitha Brown started a 30-day personal challenge that she called I Did a New Thing! The challenge was simple.
Every day she would do something she'd never done before. Sometimes it was something small like trying a new food. Other times, she'd step it up a bit and speak to someone she'd never spoken to before. Still other times, she'd do the hard thing--facing a fear that she had, like having that tough conversation with a friend. No matter what it was, the point was that she was going to take a leap of faith and watch God open up a new lane for her.

You Should Sit Down for This: A Memoir about Life, Wine, and Cookies |
A lighthearted and supremely entertaining memoir, You Should Sit Down for This is like spending the afternoon sharing tea, fresh baked cookies, and conversation with Tamera Mowry-Housley, the fun-loving, wisdom-sharing girlfriend we all need in our lives (always ready to top off your wine!).
Most of us know Tamera Mowry-Housley as a beloved TV star--one half of the memorable duo on the hit show Sister, Sister and co-host of the FOX talk show The Real. Tamera's spunky Sister, Sister character stole the hearts of millions, but the transition in the public eye from teen-girl star to grown woman with a family and thriving career wasn't easy.
Being raised in Hawaii as an army brat instilled in her the discipline needed to succeed and conquer her dreams, but she felt secluded and sheltered, and wondered if living on her own terms would ever be her reality. Then, she decided it would. Tamera stopped letting other people define her, tapped into her faith, and tossed away negativity to hone her own happiness and create a unique path forward for herself.
